This landmark new school will cater for 1750 pupils and will be capable of delivering a modern cutting edge teaching curriculum. Born from the amalgamation of St Mary’s High School, St Paul’s Junior High School and St Michael’s Grammar School, the new building will be in excess of 21,000m2. The design follows a modern and progressive layout based on a ‘campus’ style design arranged around three impressive courtyards. This facilitates efficient circulation and optimal class changing times.
Natural daylight and views from corridors are maximised throughout the building and easy external access between the courtyards increases permeability for pupil movement. The courtyards themselves, provide a variety of different external social environments, in addition to the traditional hard play area. These can be used for performances or informal teaching.
A full range of attractive and inspiring teaching accommodation is provided, complimented with extensive sports facilities. There are two impressive double height dining areas, one of which provides an arrival space at the main entrance, which is unique to St Ronan’s College.
The design for the building is centred on the pupils and provides the basis for an inclusive community where the School can nurture a love of learning through high quality teaching.
